"Snicker doodles" I love listening to my 2 year old pronounce snicker doodle. Its doesn't quite sound like snicker doodle but I always know what he's looking for. Here's a simple recipe you can share with your family. Its really easy so the kids can help. Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1-1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tarter
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Cinnamon-Sugar mixture

PREPARATION:

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Lightly grease a cookie sheet. Mix in a large bowl, cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. In a small bowl, combine flour, cream of tarter, soda and salt using a wire whisk.
Slowly add flour mixture to shortening mixture until completely combined. Roll dough into balls about the size of walnuts. Refrigerate balls until they are chilled. Then dip into cinnamon and sugar mixture. Bake about two inched apart for 8 to 11 minutes. It makes about 3 dozen cookies.
