There are tons of nonprofits that donate and/or sell computers at low cost to individuals and families in need. Each organization has its own guidelines and rules determined by them.

A great resource is www.techsoup.org/mar Use their search by zip code feature to find organizations near you that provide free or low-cost computers.

Try goggling “computer recycling and reuse” to search for other resources. Be sure to include your state abbreviation in the search box, so you're steered toward appropriate groups near you.
